
Callista Ottoni
Postdoctoral Researcher
Dr. Callista (Callie) Ottoni is a postdoctoral researcher at Simon Fraser University. She holds a two-year CIHR-Health System Impact Fellowship, and is embedded with Vancouver Coastal Health’s Healthy Environment and Climate Change (HECC) team. Her current research aims to strengthen how health systems and community organizations support older adults’ health during extreme heat, cold, and wildfire smoke events. Callie specializes in qualitative, arts-based, and participatory methods. She earned her PhD from the University of British Columbia, where she was awarded a Killam, Public Scholars, and SSHRC doctoral awards for her research on the social connectedness and everyday well-being of people 55+ years. Outside of work, you will find her singing in a contemporary music choir or riding her old commuter bicycle around the city.
