
Karen Laberee
Research Manager (She/Her)
Karen is the national research manager for CapaCITY/É. Prior to her current role, Karen gained considerable expertise from a decade worth of community science initiatives aimed at improving active transportation. She was the Executive Director of BikeMaps.org and led the development of the WalkRollMap.org project. In addition to her project management experience and expertise in community-oriented outreach and engagement, Karen provides local, on-the-ground knowledge of projects across Victoria and the Capital Regional District. Before joining CHATR Lab, Karen worked as lab manager at the Spatial Pattern Analysis and Research Lab at UVic, while collaborating on a wide variety of research projects.
In her personal life, Karen has gained considerable experience volunteering on numerous boards that support amateur sports or community initiatives. Karen can often be found running the trails around southern Vancouver Island.
