
Urvee Karve
Mitacs Intern
Urvee is currently pursuing a Master of Urban Studies at Simon Fraser University. She holds a BA Honours in Geography from the University of British Columbia with a focus on rural health services research, climate resilience and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Her interests lie in climate action, sustainable transportation, and building inclusive cycling networks. Through her current internship in partnership with the Civic Innovation Lab, she is supporting the implementation of the City of Burnaby’s proposed Bike Learning Zone and exploring the application of a GBA+ framework within the project.
Research interests: Transportation equity, inclusive cycling, GIS, GBA+, equitable urban planning
